The age of civilization. A gun reached to by it’s own force in the name of civilization. Jinhan Park who is the best sword man in the Joseon dynasty and in charge of keeping king Gojong safe is against for that gun. Unfortunately he failed, and then was shot to death by that gun. His son Yungang Park also failed to revenge with his sword. After all, Yungang abandoned his sword in tears and chooses to grab a gun.

Yangban, the upper noble class in the Joseon Dynasty, are the dominating group who had power over non-Yangban people from generation to. They tried hard to keep their power during the age of civilization by interfering king Gojong’s revolution plan to make the Joseon dynasty’s future bright. During this chaotic time, Jinhan tried to protect king Gojong from this rebellious Yangban group but was killed by them with conspiracy. His son, Yungang became a gunman in revenge for his dad’s death. He pretends to be a silly and stupid Japanese gentleman during the day time, but at night he became a gunman who will judge the right and the wrong.

He is a son of the best sword man in Joseon and he is proud of it. However, when his father get killed, he decides to grab a gun instead of a sword in tears to take revenge for his loved one and becomes a gunman.

Suin Jeong (casted by Sangmi Nam)
She is a daughter of a bureaucrat, who is curious and timid. She has been living a comfortable life with enjoying new things and dreaming of new life to come. But her life totally changes when she leaves home to carry out her teacher’s wish to deliver a book to the right person. She becomes a strong willed woman by pursuing her dream in the midst of chaos.

Hyewon Choi (casted by Hyebin Jeon)
She is the only daughter of Wonsin Choi who is the head of peddlers. She has a beautiful appearance with a strong charisma. She believes that she can acquire everything with money, but she realized that there is something she can’t get even with money and struggles for that. It is “Love.”

Hogyeong Kim (casted by Juwan Han)
He is a son of the second vice-premier. But he is refused by his father because he was born as an offspring of a concubine. He dreams of a new world to be free from the social prejudice.

Wonsin Choi (casted by Oseong Yu)
He is the head of peddlers and father of Hyewon. He is also the best sniper in Joseon who follows the order of the head of defense Jwayeong Kim.

开化期。随着新生事物的涌入，有一支新式手枪流入到了朝鲜。面对这把枪，护卫高宗的朝鲜第一剑客朴震汉和他的儿子朴允江执剑相视。但遗憾的是父亲朴震汉由于这把新式手枪而殒命，他的儿子也未能用剑替父报仇。结果儿子朴允江为了复仇含泪弃剑执枪。
两班是代代统治朝鲜的统治阶层。他们即使到了开化期，还为了维护他们的既得权利妨碍高宗的改革并阻挡了朝鲜向前的步伐。独自接受皇帝御命的朴震汉也受到了他们的阴谋陷害而失去了生命。为了替父复仇儿子朴允江成了抢手。他白天是傲慢放肆，放荡的日本绅士。可是到了晚上他却是让百姓痛快的朝鲜抢手朴允江。作品希望通过他的努力实现让所有老百姓都感到痛快的“正义”。

朴允江 (李准基)
以朝鲜第一剑客之子而深感骄傲的青年武士。当心爱的人在新式手枪面前无望地倒下后，为了复仇，他含泪弃剑持枪。

郑秀仁 (南相美)
好奇心强、胆小怕事的译官之女。虽然在新事物、新知识中生活，但梦想着能够在崭新的世界生活的温室花草。为了把老师留下的一本书转给别人而离开了家，从此卷入命运的漩涡中，变成了一个为了实现梦想而更加强悍的女子。

崔慧媛 (全慧彬)
褓负商团的头号人物崔元臣之女。集美貌与魅力于一身。虽然想用财力统治世界，但是由于存在用钱买不到的爱情这一事实，陷入历史的漩涡中不能自拔。

金浩景 (韩柱莞)
右议政金秉济之子。可惜是连父亲都轻视的庶出。为了摆脱这样的束缚而梦想着新世界。

崔元臣 (刘五性)
褓负商团的头号人物，慧媛之父。而且是跟随守护界的头号人物金佐永的朝鲜最高狙击手。

開化期、新しい文物の波に乗って朝鮮に流れてきた新式銃一丁。その銃に朝鮮第一の武士パク・ジンハンと彼の息子パク・ユンガンが剣を握って立ち向かう。しかし、父が新式銃の銃弾に撃たれ亡くなる。ユンガンは復讐を決意するが、剣ではとてもかなわないものだった。結局、ユンガンは涙の中で剣を捨て銃を握る。

両班(ヤンバン)。代々朝鮮を支配してきた権力者たち。彼らは開化期の渦の中でも自分たちの利益を守るため高宗王(コジョン王)の改革に反対し、朝鮮の行く手を阻む。そして高宗の命令を受け一人で彼らと戦っていたパク・ジンハンは彼らの仕組んだ罠に落ち、命を落とす。３年後、父親の復讐のため現われたパク・ジンハンの息子パク・ユンガン。昼間は生意気で淫蕩な日本の紳士だが、夜になると朝鮮ガンマンに変身する。彼の活躍で万民の‘正義’が実現される痛快感をプレゼントしたい。

パク･ユンガン/半蔵（イ･ジュンギ）
朝鮮第一の武士の息子という誇りを持って生きていた青年武士。しかし、愛する人々が新式銃に空しく殺される。そしてユンガンは復讐のため涙の中で剣を捨て銃を握る。

チョン･スイン(ナム･サンミ)
訳官である父親のおかげで、開化した世界を夢見て生きていた。師匠が残した一冊の本を渡すため家を出て運命の波にもまれるスイン。スインはそのことで夢に向かって進む強靭な女に変わっていく。

チェ・ヘウォン（チョン・へビン）
京畿褓商の首長であるチェ・ウォンシンの一人娘。強いカリスマを持っている女。財力で世界を支配しようとしたが、お金では買えない「愛」を知ることによって歴史の騒ぎに巻き込まれる。

キム・ホギョン（ハン・ジュワン）
最高の中央官職である領議政ギム・ビョンジェの息子だが、身分の低い庶子である。そのような現実から抜け出だすため、開化という新しい世界を夢見る。

チェ・ウォンシン（ユ・オソン）
京畿褓商の首長でヘウォンの父親。そして守護係の首長であるキムザヨンに従う朝鮮最高の狙撃手。
